Absorption chillers, on the other hand, use a heat source, such as natural gas or waste heat, to drive the refrigeration cycle, making them suitable for applications where electricity is limited or expensive. Chillers are categorized into air-cooled and water-cooled types. Air-cooled chillers use ambient air to dissipate heat, while water-cooled chillers use a cooling tower or other water source. The choice between them depends on factors like energy efficiency, installation space, and environmental conditions.
