Packaging refers to the materials used to protect, contain, and present products for distribution, sale, and use. Primary packaging is the first layer of packaging that directly touches the product, such as bottles, jars, or bags. Secondary packaging, on the other hand, is the outer packaging that holds the primary packaging together, such as cartons, boxes, or trays. Cartoners are machines used to automatically form, fill, and seal cartons or boxes for secondary packaging. They are commonly used in industries such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. Cartoners can handle a variety of carton styles and sizes, making them versatile for different packaging needs. Cartoners can be classified into different types based on their operation, such as vertical cartoners, horizontal cartoners, or end-load cartoners. They can also be categorized based on their speed and level of automation, ranging from manual to fully automatic machines. Overall, cartoners play a crucial role in the packaging process by efficiently and accurately packaging products for distribution and sale while ensuring product protection and presentation.
